During this period 849 analyzable patients were randomized.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Duration of the study<\/span><\/strong><br \/>In November 2019 the median follow-up of 48 months was reached.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Participating centers<\/strong><br \/>Patients were randomized in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.praetorian-trial.org\/?page_id=1028\">39 centers<\/a> in the Netherlands, Germany, The United Kingdom, Denmark and the United States of America. All centers had qualified cardiology departments with facilities for ICD implantation and had ample experience with both TV- and S-ICD implantation. Implantations and follow up visits wer performed under routine protocols.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Results<\/strong><br \/>Results of the study were presented at HRS2020Science. The presentation is available <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3cgNpCC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>. The data are published in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nejm.org\/doi\/full\/10.1056\/NEJMoa1915932\"><em>The New England Journal of Medicine<\/em><\/a>.
